Transparency at supportful

This Charter outlines guidance to employees on our approach to transparency as an organization. It’s important to us to ensure everyone understands and is aligned to our definition of transparency and what it means to Supportful.

Why transparency?

At Supportful, we believe transparency makes work and communication easier when it starts at the organizational level.

Transparency is one of our company’s values. We are on a mission to help tech companies and software engineers, and as an impact-driven company we aim to be open about our approach.

Being a Lebanese company reinforces the importance of transparency for us. In many Mediterranean cultures, warmth and hospitality coexist with low transparency, which can create avoidable problems. We want to do things differently by being clear and straightforward in everything we do.

Transparency also aligns with an important aspect of software engineering: open source. We believe the benefits of open source carry over to transparent practices inside and between organizations.

What does transparency mean at supportful?

Transparency at Supportful means stating facts and context honestly while choosing words carefully so we do not harm people’s feelings.

This applies to internal and external collaboration, including interactions with employees, candidates, and customers.

We will take every opportunity to be transparent. However, some information cannot be shared with everyone. We strive to make these instances clear.

As a guideline, the public should expect transparency over our growth plans, executive team decisions, and promotions. Most of these decisions will be public information.

Mistakes and lessons learned will be shared internally.

Salaries and detailed financial health information are restricted to the leadership team for now.
